Accessing and Customizing Settings

You can access and customize settings for 2D Layout for 3D Design.

  1. Select Tools > Options... from the menu bar.

    The Options dialog box appears.

  2. Select the Mechanical category in the left-hand box.

  3. Select the 2D Layout for 3D Design sub-category.

    The options for 2D Layout for 3D Design settings appear, organized in tabs.

  4. Select the tab corresponding to the options to be customized.

    Options in this tab... Allow you to customize...
    Administration administration settings, such as layout management, style and generative view style.
    Layout layout settings such as layout creation and layout window.
    Display display settings such as grid, specification tree, elements analysis color and visualization.
    View Creation view creation settings such as view visualization, view background, filter, clipping frame, clipping outline, back-clipping plane, multi-planes section view boundaries and callout creation.
    Geometry geometry settings such as geometry and colors.

  5. Set these options according to your needs.

  6. Select the Drafting sub-category.

    The options for Drafting settings appear, organized in tabs.

  7. Select the tab corresponding to the options to be customized.

    Note: Only the tabs applicable to 2D Layout for 3D Design are listed below.

    Options in this tab... Allow you to customize...
    General general settings, such as sheet creation, view creation, view axis display, frame and title block directory and paper unit.
    Geometry geometry settings, such as geometry creation and manipulation, constraints creation and constraints display.
    Dimension dimension settings, such as dimension creation, move and line-up.
    Manipulators manipulator settings, such as manipulator reference size and zoomable, rotation and dimension manipulators.
    Annotation and Dress-Up annotation and dress-up settings, such as annotation creation, move, 2D component, table and area fill.

  8. Set these options according to your needs.

  9. Click OK to save the settings and exit the Options dialog box.
