General

You can customize general settings for Drafting using this tab. You can configure the options to copy sheet background while creating a sheet, display view frame while creating a view, and display view axis, for example.

Select this tab to access options for:

Sheet Creation

Copy sheet background from first sheet
Select this check box if you want a background view to be copied into newly created sheets, inside a drawing representation.

By default, this option is selected.

View Creation

Display View frame
Select this option if you want the view frame to be displayed automatically when creating views.

By default, this option is selected.

View Axis Display

Display in the current view
Select this check box if you want the view axis to be displayed when you activate a view.

By default, this option is selected.

Zoomable
Select this check box if you want to be able to zoom view axes (as you can do with geometry).

By default, this option is selected.

Reference size
Enter the size that you want to use as a reference to display view axes.

By default, the reference size is 30 mm.

Frame And Title Block Directory

[Field]
Specify the path to the directory containing the frame and title block macros.

By default, this field is empty and a concatenation of paths based on the installation path is used: install_root/VBScript/FrameTitleBlock.

Paper Unit

Length
Select a unit - Millimeter (mm), Centimeter (cm) or Inch (in) - for parameters that are dependent on the view scale.

Example of parameters which use the Paper Unit:

  • Distance between a dimension line and its geometry
  • Dimensions line-up
  • Font size (however, note that the view scale can be applied to a font size by selecting the Apply Scale option from the Properties dialog box, Text tab, Options area).

Important: When the view scale is modified, these parameters are not modified accordingly. For example, the distance between a dimension and its geometry is always computed according to the sheet scale, and not according to the view scale.

By default, Millimeter (mm) is selected.
