Editing Materials

You can modify the components of a material definition.

  • You can add the following material domains to an existing material: drafting, rendering, composite, ELFINI linear elastic or simulation. Use this task to add other domains to a material with a predefined domain or to add the required domains to a material without any predefined domains.
  • You can create a domain based on an existing one and that uses the characteristics defined for the other domain. Use this task if you want to create a domain based on an existing one.
  • You can set a default domain. Use this task if you need to specify the domain you want to use when the material contains several domains of the same type.
  • You can modify material domain properties. Use this task if you need to tune the domains that constitute the material.
  • You can modify basic material properties (i.e., material PLM attributes) after creation. Use this task if you need to customize the material PLM attributes.
