Defining a Translation

You can apply a translation transformation to a functional feature using the Transform command.

This task illustrates a translation transformation applied to a functional feature (Pocket) followed by a Cut (to illustrate full functional behavior is retained).

  1. Click Transform .

    The Transform dialog box appears and shows Translation as the default transformation type.



  2. Select the pocket as the feature you want to transform.



  3. Set the Direction to X Axis, set Distance equal to 50.

  4. Click OK .



  5. Click Cut

    The Cut dialog box appears.

  6. Select Features to cut Translate.1.

  7. Select the surface as the cutting element.



  8. Click the orange arrow to reverse the side of the cut to keep.

  9. Click OK to confirm the operation.
