Transforming Axis to Axis

You can apply an axis to axis transformation to a functional feature using the Transform command.

This task illustrates how to perform an axis to axis transformation to a functional feature (Pocket).

  1. Click Transform .

    The Transform dialog box appears.

  2. Click Axis to Axis .





  3. Select the pocket you want to transform.

  4. In the Reference box, right-click and select Insert Wireframe > Create Axis System.

    The Axis System Definition dialog box is displayed.

  5. Right-click in the Origin box and select Coordinates.



  6. Enter X=0mm, Y=0mm, Z=0mm in the Origin dialog box.



  7. With a right click, enter the following coordinates for each axis:


    • X Axis: X=1mm, Y=0mm, Z=0mm

    • Y Axis: X=0mm, Y=1mm, Z=0mm

    • Z Axis: X=0mm, Y=0mm, Z=1mm

  8. Click OK in Axis System Definitiondialog for Reference.

  9. Select Target: Create Axis System with a right click.

  10. Right-click the Origin field and select Coordinates.

  11. Enter X=50mm, Y=0mm, Z=0mm in Origin dialog box.

  12. With a right click, enter the following coordinates for each axis:


    • X Axis: X=1mm, Y=0mm, Z=0mm

    • Y Axis: X=0mm, Y=1mm, Z=0mm

    • Z Axis: X=0mm, Y=0mm, Z=1mm

  13. Click OK in Axis System Definition dialog box for Target.

  14. Click OK.
