Creating a Common Geometry Reference

You can create a common geometry reference and set it in the Common Geometry Resources.

Using the Common Geometry Reference
  1. Select PLM Access > New.

    The New dialog box appears.

  2. Select 3D Part and click Next.

    The 3D Part / Product DS dialog box appears.

  3. Enter necessary details and click Finish.

  4. Click Project Data in the Authoring Object toolbar.

    The project data is inserted.

  5. Click 3D Session Grid - Create in the Grid Tool toolbar.

    A grid is created.

  6. To rename the grid:

    1. Right-click the grid in the specification tree and select Properties.

      The Properties dialog box appears.

    2. Select the Feature Properties tab.
    3. In the Feature Name box, type the name for grid.

  7. Click Propagate to save.

  8. Set this part as the Common Geometry Reference resource of the Common Geometry Resources in the Project Resource Management.

  9. In the SessionGridName box, type the name of the grid as specified in the step 5 above.

  10. Click OK.
