Using the Common Geometry Reference

You can use the Common Geometry Reference resource set in the Common Geometry Resources in your structure system.


Before you begin: Create a common geometry reference.

Creating a Common Geometry Reference
  1. Select PLM Access > New.

    The New dialog box appears.

  2. Select Product and click Next.

    The Product / Product DS dialog box appears.

  3. Enter necessary details and click Finish.

  4. Right-click the product node in the specification tree and select Insert > Existing 3D Part.

  5. Select the common geometry reference part.

    The common geometry reference part placed.

  6. Right-click the product node in the specification tree and select Insert > 3D Part.

    The 3D Part / Product DS dialog box appears.

  7. Enter necessary details and click Finish.

    The new part node is created in the specification tree.

    You can create your structure system in this part.



Tips:
  • You can select planes from common geometry reference part for creating structure objects.
  • You can hide or unhide the grid using the 3D Session Grid - Hide/Show command.
