Adding Inputs to a Template Definition

You can add inputs to a template definition.


Before you begin: Either a reference or a representation must be available for selection in the specification tree.

  1. From the Define Template Toolbar. Click . The Select inputs dialog box is displayed.

    Important: Note that the Loaded Components tab is automatically selected.

  2. Select a component in the specification tree so it can be displayed in the loaded components section.



  3. In the specification tree, select either a reference or a product to be added to the loaded components section. The features of the selected item are now available to be added to the Select inputs dialog box.



    Tip: Selecting a product root, allows you to add to the selectable inputs the whole children hierarchy attached to it.

  4. In the Objects section, select the inputs that you want to be added.

    Tip: You can perform multiple selections by holding down Ctrl then clicking, holding down Shift then clicking or dragging using the left mouse button.


  5. Click to add the selected inputs to the Selected objects section. Click to remove the inputs from the Selected objects section.

  6. Click OK to finish and close the Selected inputs dialog box. The selected inputs are now displayed both in the Inputs tab section and under the Inputs item of the specification tree. An input overview is available in the Input visualization section.
