A set of tools to edit applied materials are available when using the Materials palette. They are accessed through a dynamic, contextual toolbar called the balloon.

The Edit Applied Material balloon appears when you click Edit Applied Material in the left zone of the palette and select a material support either in the model geometry or in the specification tree. The cursor changes to indicate the edition mode is active . Initially the balloon is displayed in an inobstrusive low-light mode, but it becomes more visible if you hover over it. The options in the balloon depend both on the current selection and the current action.

The Edit Applied Material balloon toolbar allows you to edit the material's application. You can delete an applied material, undo a delete operation, and reapply an applied material to other supports.

The Core and Covering options allow you to identify the material's type (core or covering) and select it if needed. Click the material option to change the selection to core or covering if both are applied to the selected support. If there is no covering material applied to the support, the covering option is not available, and similarly if there is no core material applied. When you pass your cursor over the material's type option, the name of the material appears in a tooltip.

The Delete option allows you to delete a material applied to a support.

The Reapply option allows you to apply the selected material to other supports. Once you click Reapply, the Material balloon toolbar becomes active and the Edit Applied Material balloon toolbar disappears.

The Undo option allows you to cancel the last material's deletion. The Undo tool in the balloon is similar to the Undo tool in the Edit menu. See Reversing Actions for more information.

Important: The standard Undo/Redo options and the corresponding shortcuts are disabled when the application mode is active.

The Stop Balloon option allows you to close the ballon toolbar. Alternatively, you can press Esc.
