Creating Harmonic Load Excitations

You can create and define harmonic load excitations in a harmonic dynamic scenario. Harmonic load excitations define cyclical, steady-state force loading on the model as a function of frequency.

  1. In the Dynamic Excitations toolbar, click Harmonic Load .

The Harmonic Load dialog box appears.

  2. Optional: In the Name box, modify the name of the excitation.

  3. Select the load you want to excite.

Tip: If no load set is created, you have to create a load set. See Working with Excitations.

  4. Choose one of the following modulations:

    • White Noise to use a constant modulation that is equal to one.
    • Modulation to use a modulation that is a function of frequency. See Using Modulations.

  5. In the Factor box, enter a number to globally scale all values in the load excitation.

  6. In the Phase box, enter an angle value to define the phase shift between the load and the main phase clock of the simulation.

  7. Click OK.
