Using Modulations

You can define and use modulations in the definition of dynamic excitations.

This task shows you how to:

Create a Modulation

You can create a modulation.

  1. From the menu bar, select PLM Access > New....

  2. Select Document under All Types, and click Next.

    Both the Select File dialog box and the Document / Document Customized dialog box appear.

  3. In the Select File dialog box, select the file that contains the modulation data, and click Save.

    Important: A modulation file can be a text file or an Excel file. This file must contain one of the follwing characters: (Hz), (kHz), or (s) (or other time units supported by the application with parentheses).

  4. In the Document / Document Customized dialog box, click Finish.

    The modulation document is saved into the database.

Import a Modulation

You can import an existing modulation.

  1. Select Modulation.

  2. Click Select....

    The Choose a PLM Document dialog box appears.

  3. Search for the modulation document.

    You can use the wildcard character (*) to enable you to search for names that contains certain letters or patterns of letters.

  4. Select the modulation document, and click OK.

  5. To visualize the modulation values, click View.
