Applying Ball Joints

This task shows you how to apply ball joints on your model.

  1. Select a face on the model.

    The ball joint will be applied on the entire highlighted region.

    Tip: Use [Ctrl]+[Click] to select multiple faces at once.

  2. In the balloon, select the ball joint .

  3. Drag the robot to the center of rotation for the joint.

    Tip: Double-click the robot to display a dialog box that provides precise control over the robot's location; see Manipulating Objects Using the Edit... Command for more information.

  4. To complete the ball joint definition:

    • Click the background to commit the ball joint, or
    • Click a new face to commit the current ball joint and begin a new ball joint definition.

  5. To edit a ball joint after it has been created, double-click the ball joint's glyph in the model. To delete a ball joint, click its glyph and press [Delete].

    The Review Panel can also be used to edit or delete ball joints.
