Synchronizing Link or Relation Using the Synchronization Assistant

You can synchronize a link or a relation using the Synchronization Assistant when it seems to be impossible.

The Synchronization Assistant helps you to make a link or relation diagnostic and the way you will use to synchronize it.

Before you begin: Open an existing product containing 3D shapes with links and relations between them.

Edit Links and Relations Dialog Box

  1. Click Impact .

    The Edit Links & Relations dialog box appears and contains the following relations:



  2. Click Synchronize Link .

    The Synchronization Assistant dialog box appears because one or more links or relations cannot be synchronized.



    The first frame displays links involved.

    Important:

    When links or relations cannot be synchronized, the Selection Assistant dialog box appears in order to help you to synchronize them.

  3. Select the relation, the diagnostic is displayed and alternative propositions.

    Here, you will expand the relation, a (+) indicates that more information is available for this relation, and show its links.

  4. Double-click the link and select items to know the diagnostic.

    Here the same for all, you need to update the component.

  5. Click OK in the Synchronization Assistant dialog box.

    Relations and links which have been synchronized are displayed, relations unsynchronized detected by the Synchronization Assistant are unsynchronized.



  6. Click Update All .

    All relations and links are synchronized.



  7. Click OK in the Edit Links & Relations dialog box.
