Attaching and Detaching Reference Data to Task for Catia V6

This task shows you how to attach and detach the reference data on the following elements (Peers, Outputs, Inputs, Attachments) of a selected Task for Catia V6.

Attaching Reference Data to Task for Catia V6

This task shows you how to attach reference data to Task for Catia V6.

  1. Explore and expand the selected Task for Catia V6 in the Task Management Editor.



  2. Right-click on each node (Peers, Outputs, Inputs, Attachments) to select:


    • Insert
      • existing Tasks for Catia V6
      • Existing References
      • Existing Representation
    • Cut
    • Copy
    • Paste

    Note: The Insert Existing Task for Catia V6 command is only available in Peers node of the Task for Catia V6.

  3. To insert an existing representation to Attachments, right-click the Attachments element and click Insert > Existing Representation. The Search for objects to Attach to the current Task for Catia V6 dialog box appears.

  4. Enter a substring of the desired data and click Search. Alternatively, you can click Advanced Search and enter search criteria in the Search Criteria dialog box.



  5. From the search results, select the representations and click OK . The selected representations are inserted into the Attachment element of the Task for Catia V6.



  6. Repeat step 2 -to step 6, if you need to attach representations to other elements of the Task for Catia V6.

Inserting New Task for Catia V6

This task shows you how to insert a new Task for Catia V6.

  1. Explore and Expand the selected Task for Catia V6 in the Task Management Editor.

  2. Right-click the Task for Catia V6 and select Insert new Task for Catia V6. The Task for Catia V6 / PLM standard Task for Catia V6 dialog box appears.

  3. Click Finish. Task for Catia V6 creation dialog box, prompting you to choose if you want to create another Task for Catia V6, appears. Click Yes if you do want to create another Task for Catia V6, or No if you do not. The success message appears on the top right-hand corner of the application and the new Task for Catia V6 is created in the database.

  4. A newly created Task for Catia V6 is inserted and displayed under the selected Task for Catia V6 in an Task Management Editor .

Detaching Reference Data from Task for Catia V6

This task shows you how to detach reference data from Task for Catia V6.

  1. Explore and expand the node of the selected Task for Catia V6 (Peers, Outputs, Inputs, Attachments) you want to detach the representation from. In this example you will detach objects (representations, references) from the Attachments node of the Task for Catia V6.



  2. Right-click the representation and select Detach. The selected representation is detached from the node of a selected Task for Catia V6.

Detaching Child Task for Catia V6 from Task for Catia V6

This task shows you how to detach child Task for Catia V6 from Task for Catia V6.

  1. The Detach command on a Task for Catia V6 is available only if it is a child Task for Catia V6.

  2. Explore and Expand the selected Task for Catia V6 in the Task Management Editor.

  3. Right-click the child Task for Catia V6 and select Detach. The selected Task for Catia V6 is detached, and removed from the Task for Catia V6 structure.

Removing Task for Catia V6 from Task Management Editor

This task shows you how to remove Task for Catia V6 from Task Management Editor.

  1. To remove the first-level Task for Catia V6 from the Task Management Editor, select the Task for Catia V6 and click Remove from Task Management Editor in the ECA/Task Navigate bar.

  2. The Task for Catia V6 is not displayed in the Task Management Editor, but still exists in the database.

    Note: The functionality works only when the Restrict to a Single Editor check box is deselected under Tools > Options.
