Attaching an Existing Time Analysis

You attach a time analysis that already exists in the database or the current session to an operation.

This task shows you how to:


Before you begin: Open the PPR Context containing the operation for which you want to attach the time analysis, and start the Standard Time Measurement workbench.

Attach Existing Analysis

You can search for an existing time analysis and assign it to an operation in a PPR Context.

  1. In the PPR Context, select the operation to which you wish to attach the time analysis.

  2. Click Attach Existing Time Analysis .

    The Object Selection dialog box appears.

From Search

You can search for an existing time analysis in the database and assign it to an operation in a PPR Context.

  1. Specify the search attribute and click Search or Advanced Search.

    If you click Advanced Search, the Search Criteria dialog box appears. This allows you to search for particular attributes.

  2. Specify the required attributes and click OK.



  3. Select the desired time analysis from the displayed list and click OK.

    The time analysis is attached to the operation.

    Note: You can search for the parent of the time analysis: right-click on the time analysis and select Explore Parents. The Explore Parents dialog box returns with an other parent objects associated with the time analysis.

From Session

You can search for a time analysis in the current session and assign it to an operation in a PPR Context.

  1. Specify the search attribute and click Retrieve Loaded Data.

  2. Select the desired time analysis from the displayed list and click OK.

    The time analysis is attached to the operation.

From File

If the application you are using requires external data, the From File tab is displayed. This tab lets you import external data in your session.

The application can specify any kind of file format. If the application has not defined any, the default file formats are as follows: *.bmp, *.doc, *.jpe, *.jpeg, *.jpg, *.txt, and *.xls

Extensions are filtered according to the application you are using.

  1. Select the time analysis that you wish to attach.

  2. Click OK to attach the existing time analysis to the operation.

    If the attachment fails an error message is displayed.
