From the specification tree, select the top pad.

Select Edit > Properties or right-click
Properties.
The Properties dialog box appears.
It contains these tabs:
- Mechanical
- Feature Properties
- Graphic
- Reference

The Mechanical tab displays the update
status of the pad. The following attributes characterize features:
- Deactivated:
selecting this option
prevents the application from taking deactivated features
into account during an update operation.
- To Update : indicates that the selected feature
is to be updated.
- Unresolved : indicates that the selected
feature cannot be computed by the application.
You cannot control the last two options. The symbol displayed
in front of each attribute may appear in the specification
tree in some circumstances. For more about updates, see
About Updating Your Design.
Select Deactivated to deactivate the pad.
A new box is displayed, providing information
related to the children of the pad. The application warns you
that the operation will affect the child of the pad, that is
the hole.
Two options let you adjust the deactivation operation. By
default, all children of a feature are deactivated, as
To all impacted elements is selected.
If you wish to restrict the number of features you want to
deactivate, you need to select To selected impacted elements
and select, or multi-select the elements of interest.
Click the Feature Properties tab.
Enter 'New Pad' as the new name for the pad in the
Name box.

Click Apply to display the new name in the
specification tree.
Click the Graphic tab to change the color
of the feature.
The graphic properties available for editing
are:
- Fill Color (colors the current object)
and Transparency
- Global Properties
To have details about how to change graphic properties, see
Infrastructure User's Guide: Editing Objects: Editing
Graphic Properties.
Click OK to confirm the operation and close
the dialog box.
The geometry no longer shows the deactivated features and the specification
tree displays red parentheses on them to symbolize their status.
