Raster and Vector formats

The following formats can be inserted in a 2D layout representation:

Raster Vector
*.bmp *.cgm
*.dib *.gl
*.rle *.gl2
*.bmz *.hpgl2
*.jpg *.ps
*.jpeg *.svg
*.jfif
*.jpe
*.tif
*.tiff (if it is not LZW-compressed)

Monochrome pictures

In case you insert a monochrome picture, it is automatically set to the CCITTG3 format, which is a unique format without loss.

Rotation

It is impossible to rotate neither a vector images nor a polychrome raster image using the Rotation icon (from the Operation toolbar). However, it is possible to rotate a 2D component containing an inserted monochrome raster images.

Angle

Multicolor images and vector images are not affected by their parent 2D component or view angle.

Picture insertion in 2D Layout for 3D Design

  • Raster and vector images are displayed in the 3D window and in the 2D background of a 2D layout view except multicolor raster images created on a level lower than V6R2012.
  • Raster and vector images are displayed above the 3D model that is displayed in the view background.
  • Raster and vector images are rotated in 3D when 3D rotations are performed on the 3D window's viewpoint.
  • During 2D layout view generation or during an export of drafting views, inserted pictures are considered as dress-up element.
