Inserting a Logical Port

This section provides an overview of how to insert a logical port on a component.

You complete this process in the 2D view only.


Before you begin: Create a group of logical components similar to those shown below.

  1. In the 2D view, right-click a logical component and select Create New Logical Port.

    The Insert New Logical Port/Logical Port DS dialog box appears.

  2. In the dialog box, enter a name for the Logical Port (or accept the default value).

  3. In the dialog box Direction list, select one of the values (In, Out, InOut, NoDirection) and then click Finish.


  • In the 2D view, a logical port is added.
  • In the specification tree, a port is added to the logical component.

In this example, a port with Direction set to In was added.
