When automatically generating PLM objects, you must make sure that they are unique in the database. You also want to control the way those objects are shown on the client side. The default customization for Product references and representations provides an identification based on two attributes:
PLM_ExternalID
V_version
The names shown on the client side are based on the concatenations of those two attributes. Under SMB customization, the identification attributes are the same, but name shown is based on V_Name attribute.
You need to generate the values of those attributes automatically for resolved items taking the customization of the implied PLM Components into account. Two different strategies are available: either the standard naming strategy based on business rules or a custom naming strategy based on a specific rule stored in the family.
