Managing Electrical Nets and Net Groups

You can gather nets and/or netgroups within a net group.


Before you begin:

For the purpose of this scenario, you will:

  • Group the nets under NetGroup1.
  • Move NetGroup1 under NetGroup2.
  • Remove a net from NetGroup1.

  1. From the RFLP structure tree, select NetGroup1.

  2. Select Net Group Links from the Electrical toolbar.

    Tip: You can also select this command from the menu bar (via Insert > Menu > New... > Connector Port Links).

  3. From the RFLP structure tree, select Net1, Net2 and Net3 to insert them under NetGroup1.

    Important: It is not possible to select neither a net nor a net group that is already inserted under a net group.



  4. De-activate Net Group Links .

    You will now insert NetGroup1 under NetGroup2.

  5. Re-activate Net Group Links .

  6. From the RFLP structure tree, select NetGroup2.

  7. Select NetGroup1 to insert it under NetGroup2.

    From the logical Electrical node, NetGroup1 is now displayed under NetGroup2:

  8. De-activate Net Group Links .

    You will now remove a net from NetGroup1.

  9. Re-activate Net Group Links .

  10. Select NetGroup1.

    The nets that are inserted under NetGroup1 are highlighted.

  11. Click Net3.

    Net3 is removed from NetGroup2.
