Managing Connector Ports and Pins

You can structure a group of connector ports, terminal connectors and pins.

This structure is displayed from the RFLP structure tree, under the Electrical > Ports node.

Insert Pins/Connector Ports under a Connector Port

You can insert Pin1 and Pin2 under ConnectorPort1.

  1. Select ConnectorPort1.

    Tip: You can select electrical pins, connector ports and terminal connectors:
    • From the logical Ports node of an active electrical logical component
    • From the Ports node aggregated under the Electrical node of an active electrical logical component
    • From the Electrical node of a root logical component
    • From the 2D representation

  2. Select Connector Port Links from the Electrical toolbar.

    Tip: You can also select this command from the menu bar (via Insert > New... > Connector Port Links).

  3. Select Pin1 and Pin2, to insert them under ConnectorPort1.

    Warning: It is not possible to select a pin / connector port / terminal connector that is already inserted under another connector port / connector component.

    The Electrical Ports node displays this new hierarchy:

  4. De-activate Connector Port Links .

    Tip: You can also de-activate Connector Port Links by clicking anywhere in the 2D representation, on condition the 2D representation is active (in other terms, the tree must not be active, you cannot zoom on it).

You can now proceed the following scenario, and remove a pin from the connector port.

Remove a Pin/Connector Port from a Connector Port

You can remove Pin2 from ConnectorPort1.

  1. Select Connector Port Links from the Electrical toolbar.

  2. Select ConnectorPort1.

    The pins that are inserted under ConnectorPort1 are highlighted from the RFLP tree.

  3. Select Pin2.

    Pin2 is removed from ConnectorPort1. It is now positioned at the same level than ConnectorPort1.

  4. De-activate Connector Port Links .

    Tip:
    • You can also de-activate Connector Port Links by clicking anywhere in the 2D representation, on condition the 2D representation is active (in other terms, the tree must not be active, you cannot zoom on it).
    • You can use a validation business rule when you group / ungroup to or from connector port, connector ports / pins.
