Modifying Segments

You can change shape and properties of the individual segment.

For flat cables, some actions may lead to another behavior. For more information, please refer to Converting Flat Cables into Regular Branches.


Before you begin: Create an electrical branch geometry. The Branch Definition dialog box is still open.

  1. In the Branch Definition dialog box, click Segments Definition.

    The Segments Definition dialog box appears:



  2. Select the segment you want to modify.

  3. Click Reframe on selection to reframe the geometry area on the selected segment.

  4. Change the segment shape and parameters:

    For example:

    1. Set the Profile Type to elliptical.

      Note: Section parameters change according to the profile type selected.

    2. Enter 15mm for the Major Axis under Section Parameters.

    The Segment Definition dialog box lets you manage the Profile Type and Section Parameters of segments having simple shapes defined by a single sketch. To create segments with multiple profiles, see Creating Multi-profile Branches.

    Note: Section Parameters are unavailable if you have defined different section shapes along the segment via Creating Multi-profile Branches.

  5. Click Apply.

    The result looks like this:



  6. Click OK when done.



Tip: Double-clicking the segment in the specification tree gives you access to a limited number of properties and lets you change the name, diameter and color.
