Creating an Electrical Geometry

Electrical geometry is an assembly of connectors, supports and one or more electrical branch geometries depending on your design philosophy. You can create one or more electrical geometries.

Warning: The product you select to create the electrical geometry, must:

  • Be a reference
  • Not have electrical properties and behavior
  • Not have an associated representation.

Accessing and Customizing Settings
  1. In the Electrical Assembly Design workbench, select Insert > Electrical Behavior > Electrical Geometry.

  2. Select the product of interest, for example Product1.

An electrical geometry having appropriate electrical properties is created.

Note: The associated symbol in the specification tree changes.

You are now ready to start your design.

Note: You are advised to create an electrical geometry first before any other action such as instantiating connectors or creating electrical branch geometries. This is the default setting. To change this setting (Tools > Options... > Equipment > Electrical Discipline > Electrical Assembly Design), see Electrical Geometry Management - Segment Creation.
