Importing Abaqus Materials

A material definition can be imported from an existing Abaqus input file. The imported material includes a Simulation domain that captures all of the appropriate material properties from the Abaqus definition.

Before you begin: Material data are imported based on the following keywords and associated data lines in the Abaqus input file:
  • *ELASTIC, TYPE=ISOTROPIC
  • *PLASTIC, TYPE=ISOTROPIC
  • *DENSITY
  • *CONDUCTIVITY, TYPE=ISO
  • *VISCOELASTIC, TIME=PRONY
  • *DAMPING, ALPHA
  • *DAMPING, BETA
  • *EXPANSION, TYPE=ISO

All other keywords and data in the input file are ignored during the import.
