Opening / Exporting Simulation Results

You can either export the result of a virtual execution in an external file (.mat) or display within the Dynamic Behavior Modeling workbench results that are extracted from a .mat file.

Open a Simulation Result

You can open a simulation result.

  1. From the menu bar, select Tools > Virtual Execution > Open Simulation Result .

    The Simulation Result File Open dialog box appears.

  2. Browse to select the convenient .mat file.

  3. Click Open.

    A new Variable Browser displays the imported simulation results. Its title displays the name of the opened file and the hour / date of the open.

    Warning: These results are opened from the .mat file, they are not copied. If you close the Variable Browser, you must re-open the .mat file.

  4. You can then display plots or replay the 3D animation, as from any Variable Browser.

Export a Simulation Result

You can export a simulation result. Before you begin, perform a simulation.

  1. From the menu bar, select Tools > Virtual Execution > Export Simulation Result .

  2. From the Variable Browser, select a result.

    The Simulation Result Export dialog box appears.

  3. Enter a name for the exported file.

  4. Click Save to create a new .mat file containing the simulation results.

To save your simulation result., select Tools > Virtual Execution... > Save Simulation Results.
