Replaying a 3D Animation

When replaying a 3D animation, you can re-use the results that have been previously computed. You can also replay the animation of two trajectories to visualize the differences in the 3D animation window.

Before you begin:
  • Select a 3D model.

For example, select Modelica.Mechanics.MultiBody.Examples.Loops.PlanarLoops_analytic from the Modelica Standard Library.

  • Execute the 3D model.
  • End the execution.

  1. From the Variable Browser, select a component.

    Tips:
    • To replay the last 3D animation, you can also select the model from the diagram layer.
    • To replay a previous 3D animation, select a component from the corresponding Variable Browser.
    • If you want to compare two trajectories in the same 3D animation window, select a component in each of the two corresponding Variable Browsers.

  2. Select Replay 3D Animation from the Execution toolbar.

Contrary to a virtual execution, note that there is:

    • no new computation: the previous results will be used.
    • no new Variable Browser.

The 3D viewer and the Simulation Player toolbar appear.

  3. Use the Simulation Player toolbar to execute the 3D animation.

    Note:

    • You can only replay the animation of the results that have already been computed :

When positioning the Simulation Player at a time for which the results have not yet been computed, the 3D shapes remain in the position of the last computed simulation time.

    • You cannot plot a variable during the simulation time.

  4. To end the 3D animation replay, de-select Replay 3D Animation or close the Simulation Player toolbar.
