Creating a Design Table from the Current Parameters Values

You can create a design table using the file parameters values.


Before you begin: Refer to the Sample 3 topic to create the model you need to perform this scenario.
  1. Click Design Table in the Knowledge toolbar. The Creation of a Design Table dialog box is displayed. See About the Design Table Dialog Box

    for further information.

  2. If need be replace the default name and comment for the design table.

  3. Check Create a design table with current parameter values.

  4. Click OK. The Select parameters to insert

    dialog box is displayed.

  5. From the Parameters to insert list, select the

    PartBodyPad.1FirstLimitLength and the PartBodyPad.1SecondLimitLength items. Then click the right arrow to add both items to the Inserted parameters list.

  6. Click OK.

    A New - Step 1 dialog box is displayed.

  7. Enter the name of the representation and click Finish. Click OK to exit the dialog box. The design table feature is added to the specification tree and a dialog box displays the newly created design table. This design table contains only one configuration. By default it is active.

    Important: If the file specified already exists, the Creation of a Design Table dialog box is re-displayed as well as a message box asking you whether you want to overwrite the existing file.

  8. Double-click the design table in the specification tree and click Edit table... to start an Excel application (under Windows) or open the text editor under Unix. Replace the

    PartBodyPad.1FirstLimitLength parameter value with 80mm.

  9. Save your Excel or .txt file and close your application. An information message is displayed indicating that the design table was synchronized. Click Close.

  10. Click Apply into the CATIA design table dialog box, the document is updated as well as the CATIA design table. Click OK

    to exit the window.
