  1. Double-click Fastening Rules in the specification tree to display the Fastening Rule Parameters dialog box:

  2. Select the options according to the rules to activate and modify their parameters according to your needs:

    • Naming rules: these rules enable to define how the fasteners are to be named. Following parameters are set-up:
      • Prefix is initialized with Feature Type string,
      • Suffix is initialized with an empty string,
      • Start number is set to 0.

Modifying any of the fields above (Prefix, Suffix or Start number) automatically reinitialize the Next identifier parameter with the new value.

      Step is set to 2.

The Activate automatic naming rule is automatically selected (contrary to all other rules that are deactivated), whatever the reference Fastener type.

Important: If you have manually defined a naming rule and later modify the process type, the naming is automatically reset to its default value.
    • Positioning rules: these rules enable to define the position of fasteners to be created:

    • Stacking rules: these rules enable to define the fastener location with respect to the stacking order:

  3. Click OK to save your preferences.

Fasteners to be created will be compliant with these rules. If you try to create a fastener that does not respect one of the defined rules, a warning message is displayed avoiding its creation or modification, except during global update.
