Data Collect

The Data Collect dialog box appears when you select Create Data Collect and click on resulting Work Instruction item on the list for the operation. Alternatively, the Data Collect dialog box appears when you click on a Work Instruction item that already exists.

Data Collect Text

Name
You can accept the default name provided or create your own.

the name includes the name of the work instruction type (in this case, data collect).

Instruction Text
You can use copy/paste during text entry. If you enter more text than is visible in the initial box, scroll bars appear. The text cannot include any kind of formatting tags or commands, such as those for italics or bold.
Label
You can create a label for the data collection field that is displayed on the shop floor.

Type Options

Real
If this option is selected, set Magnitude, which determines the units used in the values (e.g., if the Magnitude is set to Angles, the units are appropriate for angles). In cases, such as that for length, where magnitude can be expressed in more than one way (e.g., length can be expressed in inches or centimeters), the sub-option values are determined by your settings in Tools > Options > General > Units.

You can limit the range of valid values by setting minimum and maximum values.

Note: You can create a list of valid values. Once you enter a value and click Add Value, a new field opens beneath the first, and the original field has Remove Value next to it.

That is, the last field is always blank and associated with Add Value

Boolean
If this option is selected, the MES user must input a Boolean value.

Integer
If this option is selected, the MES user must input an integer.

As with Real, you can set minimum and maxium values. You can also enter a list of valid values. The Add Valueand Remove Value commands work as they do for Real.
Text
If this option is selected, the MES user must input text.
