Accessing Properties in VPM Navigator

This task shows you how to display and edit properties associated to PLM objects.

  1. Select a part in the VPM Navigator tree and click Edit > Properties.

    The Properties dialog box appears.

    Note: If your site has provided additional properties tabs, you can see them by clicking More....

  2. To see Reference properties, click the Reference tab.

    You can update attributes that are available based on the Edit mask. To save your changes click Apply. To save your changes and close the Properties window click OK. To close the Properties window without saving your changes click Close.

  3. To see Instance properties, click the Instance tab.

    You can update attributes that are available based on the Edit mask. To save your changes click Apply. To save your changes and close the Properties window click OK. To close the Properties window without saving your changes click Close.

  4. To see Versions properties, click the Versions tab.

    All versions of the selected part are displayed. Using the contextual menu, you can execute commands on selected objects in the version list.

    Note: In the Versions tab, you can choose to display the versions in Detail, Thumbnail or Tile format.

  5. To see Preview properties, click the Preview tab.

    The Preview tab displays the representation of the selected part.

    Important: Properties are not editable in VPM Navigator if the object is loaded in an open VPM Editor session or if the properties are locked by another user.
