Instantiating a PLM Template From Search, From Session, and From a Catalog

You can instantiate PLM Templates using different methods after creating it.

This task shows you how to:


Before you begin: You must have created a Product to instantiate your PLM Template and saved it in the database.

From Session

You can istantiate a PLM template from session.

  1. Click and select Knowledgeware > Templates > Product Knowledge Template.

  2. Access your sample.

  3. In the Search field, enter template: and the name of your template and click Search .

  4. Click PLM Template Instantiation in the Templates Instantiation Toolbar and select the From Session Tab.

  5. Click Retrieve loaded data.

  6. Click OK to validate your selection.

    The Insert Object dialog box opens.

  7. Make the appropriate selections in the tree or in the geometry.

  8. Click OK to validate your selection. The instantiated template is displayed.

From a Catalog

You can istantiate a PLM template from a catalog.

  1. Click and select Knowledgeware > Templates > Product Knowledge Template.

  2. Click in the Templates Instantiation Toolbar.

  3. Click More.... Click Search in the Choose a Catalog or Chapter window.

  4. Double-click the catalog in the list.



  5. Double-click the desired catalog in the Item name list and click Close in the Catalog Browser window. The PLM Template is instantiated.
