Connecting to the DELMIA - Live PPR Navigator and Connector

To get the full benefit of Live PPR Navigator and Connector, you first connect to 3DLive.

This task shows you how to:


Before you begin:

If you do not already have an ENOVIA Manufacturing Hub installed, see:

If you have already installed an ENOVIA Manufacturing Hub, you can connect to your Manufacturing Hub using your server name, and an authorized user name and password.

Follow the procedure below and replace the sample server name, user name, and password with your own.

If you are connecting to a Manufacturing Hub for the first time:


  • IT has to authorize each client (users machine to be granted)
  • Make sure that DCOM is authorized on your machine, and that you have Windows XP SP2 minimum (see DCOM Settings for more information).

Launching 3DLive and Connecting to the Manufacturing Hub

To access, the product, you connect to the Manufacturing Hub.

  1. Double-click the 3DLive icon on your desktop.

    The Connect dialog box appears:



  2. Enter the data source, user name and password and click OK to connect to 3DLive.

    When the connection is completed, the 3DLive application window is displayed:



DCOM Settings

The first time you connect to the Manufacturing Hub, the DCOM settings have to be set up.

Make sure that DCOM processes are authorized for everyone on your machine. See Setting Up the DELMIA - Live PPR Navigator & Connector: Configure DCOM Settings.

If you install the MSI on a laptop with a firewall enabled, disable the firewall or create exceptions for the processes described in the Which Server Processes to Customize section of the documentation DCOM.pdf. Also create an exception for the process DPE V5 Connector.

See below for details about creating exceptions.

  1. Select Start > Control Panel.

  2. Click Windows Firewall to display the Windows Firewall dialog box.



  3. In the Exceptions tab of the Windows Firewall dialog box, click Add Port.

  4. Create a port for DCOM if the port does not exist. (The Name is DCOM, Port number is 135 and protocol is TCP.



  5. Click OK to return to the Windows Firewall dialog box.

  6. Click Add Program...

  7. Select all ENOVIA Manufacturing Hub processes in the Exceptions tab, then click OK.
