Managing Catalogs of Components Families

You can automatically define or update a catalog based on all or parts of the family items.

Before you begin:
  • You must have created a catalog containing a chapter and saved it in the database.
  • In this scenario, you must have created a filter.

About Catalogs of Component Families

  1. Click Manage components family catalogs .

    The Catalog management window opens.

  2. In the Items selection section, select the Filter option and select your filter Diameter1 in our example.

  3. In the Catalog options frame, click the folder button.

    The Choose Catalog dialog box is displayed.

  4. Enter the name of the catalog in the Search field and click Search.

  5. Select a catalog in the list and click OK.



  6. Select the chapter in the Chapter drop-down list.

  7. Click Fill chapter.

    The chapter is filled with the Component Family items matching the filter.

    Note: The Generic model thumbnail, and the Picture options enable you to associate an image stored in the Component family (Picture option) or a thumbnail (Generic model thumbnail option) representing the Generic model to a catalog chapter.

  8. Click Close when done.
