Exporting a Kinematics Simulation

You can export an animation of a kinematics simulation to be replayed in another context. The animation is exported to the main product. For example, if you create a kinematics simulation on a landing gear, you can export the animation to the landing gear product and replay it in the context of the entire plane.

Before you begin:
  • A scenario result must be available under the Result node of a kinematics simulation.
  • Double-click the Result node under the kinematics simulation to enter the Kinematics Postprocessing workbench.

  1. Select a result of scenario under the Results category.

Tip: Alternatively, you can click Export Animation, and then select a result of scenario.

  2. Click Export Animation .

The animation is created in an Animations folder within an animation representation, located under the product node of the Model category in the specification tree. For more information about the Model category, see About Simulations.

Important: If you update a result of scenario, the corresponding exported animation is updated accordingly.

You can use the created animation of your mechanism to generate two-dimensional and three-dimensional geometries such as swept volumes or traces. For more information, see Tracing and Sweeping

  3. Optional: Click Play in the compass, and select the animation representation in the specification tree.

The current animation is automatically animated. For more information, see Live ENOVIA V6 Connector User's guide: Using the Compass: Play.
