Performing a Symmetry on Geometry

You can transform geometry by means of a symmetry operation. Symmetry is an operation in which an element is transformed by means of a mirror symmetry with respect to a reference plane, line or point.

Before you begin: Create a 3D shape containing a geometric element.

  1. Click Symmetry .

The Symmetry Definition dialog box appears as well as the Tools Palette. For further information about the Tools Palette, refer to Infrastructure User's Guide : Selecting Using Selection Traps.

  2. Select the Element to be transformed by symmetry.

  3. Select a point, line or plane as Reference element.
