Lock Icon

A lock-shaped icon is available besides the Line type to prevent an automatic change of the type while selecting the geometry. Click it so that the lock turns red . For instance, if you select the Point-Point type, you are not able to select a curve. If you want to select a curve, select another type in the combo list.

Start and End Values


  • Regardless of the line type, Start and End values are specified by entering distance values or by using the arrows.
  • Start and End values should not be the same (except for the Point-Point type).

Length Types

The following length types are available:


  • Length: the line will be defined according to the Start and End points values
  • Infinite: the line will be infinite
  • Infinite Start Point: the line will be infinite from the Start point
  • Infinite End Point: the line will be infinite from the End point

Important: You can select the Mirrored extent check box to create a line symmetrically in relation to the selected Start point. It is only available with the Length type.
