Creating Local Properties

You can create a local property (2D or 1D) and apply this property to a part of a model. A local property can be used to refine a property locally.

Before you begin: A 2D or 1D property must exist.

  1. In the specification tree, right-click a property (1D or 2D), and select one of the following:

    • Local 2D Property to apply a 2D property locally.
    • Local 1D Property to apply a 1D property locally.

    The corresponding dialog box appears.

  2. Optional: In the Name box, modify the name of the local property.

  3. Select the support on which you want to apply the local property.

You can select geometries or groups.

    • If the local property support is a geometric sub part, this sub part must be included in the support of the global property.
    • If the local property support is a group, the finite elements corresponding to the group must belong to he finite elements of the global property.

  4. Set the parameters of the local property.

  5. Click OK.

The local property is created and is stored under the global property in the specification tree.
