Creating Boundary Groups

You can group lines or surfaces by boundary, that means finding 1D elements or 2D elements within an area bounded by boundary points and boundary curves and located on supports.


Before you begin: A mesh must exist for groups under a mesh part.

  1. In the Groups toolbar, click Boundary Group .

    The Boundary Groups dialog box appears.

  2. In the Supports box, select:

    • 1D features.
    • 2D features.

  3. In the Boundaries box, select:

    • Points, vertices or curves if you selected one-dimensional supports.
    • Curves if you selected two-dimensional supports.

    Multi-selection is available.

  4. Optional: Click Apply to create and update the group.

  5. Click OK.

    If you do not click Apply before clicking OK, the group is created but not updated. To update a group, see Updating Groups.
