Export of Simulations to 3D XML

You can export a simulation to a 3D XML file. You can export a simulation only in an authoring package, which exports all of the information needed for the recipient to execute the simulation.

Exporting Data to 3D XML
  1. From a Search Results or Navigation window, select the simulation to export. You cannot export more than one simulation to a 3D XML file.

  2. From the menu, select PLM Access > Export.

    The Export dialog box appears. The Format indicates the simulation will be exported with authoring, which allows another user to import the 3D XML file.

  3. Enter or browse to the directory where the file will be saved.

  4. Enter the name of the file that will be created.

  5. From the Property/Value table, click on a value and enter the corresponding text. For example, you can enter the name of the user that created the 3D XML file and the name of the recipient. The information is embedded in the 3D XML file.

  6. Click Preview to see the objects and the information that will be exported.

  7. Click OK.

    The 3D XML file is created, and the Export dialog box closes.
