Managing Wires and Cables

You can structure a group of wires and cables.

This structure is displayed from the RFLP tree, under the logical reference, from the Electrical > Wires node.

Before you begin:
  • Create a logical reference (Electrical System).
  • Create a cable (Cable1).
  • Define two wires (Wire1 and Wire2).

In this scenario, you will insert Wire1 and Wire2 under Cable1, then remove Wire2 from Cable1.

  2. Select Cable Links from the Electrical toolbar.

Tip: You can also select this command from the menu bar (via Insert > New... > Cable Links).

  3. Multi-select Wire1 and Wire2 to insert them under Cable1.

Warning: It is not possible to select a wire/cable that is already inserted under another cable.

You will now remove Wire2 from Cable1.

  4. Select Wire2.

  5. De-activate Cable Links .

    Tip:
    • You can de-activate Cable Links by clicking anywhere in the 2D representation, on condition that the 2D representation is active (in other terms, the tree is not active, you cannot zoom on it).
    • You can use a validation business rule when you group / ungroup to or from cable / net group, other cables / wires - net groups / nets.
