Adding a Connector Connection Point

You can add a connector connection point to a connector, placing it using an axis system. The connector connection point specify how mating connectors are placed when making an electrical connection.


Before you begin: Open any document containing a single insert connector to which you want to add a connector connection point.

  1. Click Connector Connection Point or select Insert > Connection Point >Connector Connection Point...

    The Connector Connection Point Definition dialog box opens:



  2. Select the electrical device to which you want to add a connector connection point.

  3. Identify the connector connection point in the Name box.

  4. Place the connector connection point using an axis system:

    1. Select Standard.
    2. Click .

      The Axis System Definition dialog box opens.

      If there is an existing representation, a right-handed axis system is positioned by default.

    3. Optionally: Define an origin and X, Y and Z axes.

    4. Click OK.

    You can also position connector connection points using the advanced method.

  5. Click OK to validate.
