Removing Flatten Links

You can remove the flatten link between a component in the flattened view and the corresponding component in the 3D design data.

Before you begin: Have both the 3D geometry and the flattened geometry open.

  1. Click Remove Flatten Link in the Update Flatten Links toolbar.

Important: Moving the mouse over flattened geometry components highlights the corresponding component in the 3D design data. Cross-highlighting means that the link exists and can, if desired, be removed.

  2. In the flattened geometry document, select the component whose link you want to remove.

    You can select a:

    • Segment
    • Device
    • Protective Covering
    • Support
    • Conductor or Conductor Group.

    The flatten link is removed.

You can also select Electrical Geometries or Physical Systems to remove links of all constituent components.

Important: If you select an Electrical Geometry or Physical System in the specification tree, then flatten links of all components (devices, supports, segments, conductors, protective covering and mechanical parts) will be removed.
