Extracting 3D Data

You can extract Electrical Geometries or Electrical Physical Systems with all the devices that are associated to them, such as their connectors, backshells, shells, complex connectors assembly, contacts and supports from 3D design data provided they belong to the same electrical geometry.

Before you begin:

Open the product in which you defined your flattening parameters and the product containing your data.

  1. Select Window > Tile Horizontally to get a better viewing of the process.

  2. Click Extract .

It enables you to extract the information contained in the Electrical geometries or physical systems from your product.

When duplicating an Electrical Physical System, all the links with the Electrical Geometries associated to it are maintained.

  3. Select an Electrical geometry or physical system in the geometry area or in the specification tree.

Important: By default, the system checks for electrical connections. If errors are detected in the 3D harness, a dialog box is displayed informing that errors are found, and need to be corrected:

The Network checker has detected some errors
on electrical connection on the 3D Harness design.

Do you want to clean the electrical link?

After cleaning, the command stops because you
    							must save 3D Harness Design.

    • If you click OK, the errors are corrected.
    • If you click Cancel, the extraction process stops and no further action is taken.

    The result looks like this.

  4. Save your data.

Note: For knowledge parameters extraction, is copied the result of the parameter formula only and not the formula in itself.
