Copying, Cutting and Pasting Classes

You can copy, cut or paste components and classes in other components / classes.

Note that you can cut/copy from an editor window then paste to another one.

Cut / Copy / Paste from the Package Browser

In the following example, you will copy a class in another class.

You can either cut or copy classes in the Package Browser.

To cut / paste: Drag and drop the component from a class to another.

To copy / paste:

  • Hold down the Ctrl key during the drag and drop.
  • Use as usual Ctrl+C then Ctrl + V.

  1. From the Package Browser, select a class. If need be, you can multiselect classes by using the Ctrl or Shift keys.



  2. Hold down the Ctrl key when dragging your selection to the convenient class.

    A 2D representation of the selected class follows your cursor.

  3. Drop your selection in the convenient class.

    The class has been copied.

Copy / Paste From the Component Browser

In this scenario, you will copy / paste a component from the Component Browser to the diagram layer.

  1. From the Component Browser, select a component.

    In this scenario we drag the C5 component.

  2. Hold down the Ctrl key and drag your selection to the convenient class, in the 2D representation.



  3. Drop your selection in the convenient class.

    A copy of the component, named C6, is inserted in the 2D representation.

    The new C6 component also appears from the Component Browser.
