Using a Grid

To easily position your components, you can use a grid.

Before you begin: Open an existing model with components.

  1. Click Display/Hide Grid from the Grid toolbar.



    Tip: You can define the grid color and spacing from Tools > Options... > Systems > Dynamic Behavior Modeling > Editor > Grid. Refer to Customizing > Editor tab for more information.

  2. Select and drag your component anywhere in the 2D diagram.

    Note that the component do not snap to the grid.

  3. Select Activate/Deactivate Grid Snapping from the Grid toolbar.

  4. Select and drag your component anywhere in the 2D diagram.

    Note that the element you select automatically snap to the grid.
