Adding a Parameter to an Edge

You can add parameters to an edge using the Parameters Explorer. This function works on edges, faces and vertex.

Adding a Parameter to a Feature

  1. Create a rectangular Pad.

  2. Click and select Knowledgeware > Knowledge Advisor.

  3. Click Add Parameters on Geometry and select the upper edge of the Pad.

The Parameter Explorer dialog box opens.


  1. From the New Parameter of type scrolling list, select the Length parameter type, and click New parameter of type.

  2. In the Local Name field, enter the name of the parameter. For the purpose of this scenario, enter Extract_Length and click OK to validate. A new Extract feature is created and the parameter you created is added to this feature.
    Important: Parameters added using the Parameters Explorer are displayed right below the feature they are assigned.
