Creating a Beam Using Beams and a Plane

You can create a beam by using previously created beams and plane.

Before you begin: Open the structure to place a beam. For the purpose of this scenario create:
  • Two points at X=0mm, Y=0mm, Z=0mm and X=0mm, Y=5000mm, Z=0mm.
  • Beams at these two points limited by Deck.2 plane.

Beam Dialog Box

  1. Click Beam in the Authoring Object toolbar.

    The Beam dialog box appears.

  2. In the Category list, select Beam.

  3. In the Type list, select Beams and Plane.

  4. In the Plane box, select Deck.1 plane.

  5. In the Beam 1 and Beam 2 box, select two beams.

The beam is created.
