Realistic Robot Simulation in a Nutshell
Realistic Robot Simulation (RRS) is an add-on product for the
Factory Layout and Robotics product configuration.
Realistic Robot Simulation (RRS) allows a simulation software
(CAR system) to interface with the RCS (Robot Controller
Simulation) module, the robot manufacturer's proprietary motion
planning software. This direct interaction provides greater
accuracy in motion trajectory as well as cycle time.
Once RRS is enabled for a robot, the RRS Operations command will
allow you to invoke the following functionality on the RRS robot
based on selecting the corresponding tab page in the RRS Operations
dialog:
• Get robot stamp
• Save/Load RCS data (degree of support dependent on RCS
support)
• Enable/disable RRS debug log generation by the RCS module
• Displaying of robot's RRS (connection etc.) parameter
settings
• Displaying RRS-I interface DLL/RCS module controller-specific
attribute dialogs

Before Reading this Guide
Before reading this guide, you should be familiar with basic Version 6 concepts such as document windows, standard and view toolbars. Therefore, we recommend that you read the Infrastructure User's Guide that describes generic capabilities common to all Version 6 products. It also describes the general layout of Version 6 and the interoperability between workbenches.

Getting the Most Out of this Guide
To get the most out of this guide, we suggest that you start reading and performing the step-by-step user tasks, which cover all product functionalities.
The Interface Description section, which describes the commands that are specific to Realistic Robot Simulation, and the Customizing section, which explains how to customize settings, will also certainly prove useful.
