Creating Scalings

You can resize the geometry to the required dimension using points, planes or planar surfaces as scaling references.

This task shows how to scale a body in relation to a point.


Before you begin: To perform this task, create a pad and a point on this pad.
  1. Select the body to be scaled.



  2. Click Scaling .

    The Scaling Definition dialog box appears.

  3. Select the reference point located on the body.

    A graphic manipulator is displayed on the body.

  4. Enter a value in the Ratio box or select the manipulator and drag it.

    The ratio increases as you drag the manipulator in the direction pointed by the right end arrow.



  5. Click OK.

    The body is scaled. The specification tree indicates you performed this operation.



Tip: You can also resize a body in relation to a face or plane. In the example below, the plane zx is the reference element and the ratio is 1.6.
