Disabling the Intermediate Stock at Operation Level

You can deactivate/activate the stock management for specific Machining Operations, i.e. you can deactivate the output intermediate stock computation on each Machining Operation and deactivate the intermediate stock in the computation of the tool path.

  1. Double-click the Part Operation in the Activities Process Tree.

    1. In the Setup tab, associate the Design part and Stock to the Part Operation.
    2. In the Options tab, select Activate the intermediate stock check box.
    3. Click OK to validate and exit the dialog box.

  2. In the Activities Process Tree, right-click a Machining Operation (in our example Rough Turning). In the contextual menu:

    • either select Intermediate Stock > Ignore in Tool Path Computation

Note: this menu item is available for the Axial Machining, Prismatic Machining, and Lathe Machining Operations (i.e. for all Machining Operations that take in account the intermediate stock in the tool path computation). When activated, it does not take the input intermediate stock into account while computing the tool path.

    • or select Intermediate Stock > Deactivate Output Computation

Note: This menu item deactivates the computation of the output intermediate stock in the selected Machining Operation. The input stock of the following Machining Operation is the same as for the selected Machining Operation (i.e. no update resulting of selected Machining Operation).

Note: The two options are independent. You can ignore the input stock and still compute the output stock or the other way round or disable both.

  3. Double-click the Machining Operation.

Two new buttons appear at the bottom of the dialog box:

    • The status of the ignore option is shown on the icon of the input intermediate stock.

    • The status of the deactivate option is shown on the icon of the deactivate output stock.

Note: If you have deactivated the output computation of the intermediate stock, the output button is not available in the dialog box of the Machining Operation .
